By using Connected Know, you agree to these terms.

The Site

We publish news, event listings and a directory of companies for information. We work hard to get things right and correct what we get wrong (see the editorial policy), but event details come from organisers and can change. Please check with the organiser before you travel. Nothing on the site is legal, financial or investment advice, and the stock prices on the ticker strip are delayed market data provided for interest.

What You Send Us

When you submit an event, a story, a founder profile or a message, you confirm it is yours to send and accurate as far as you know, and you give us permission to publish, edit and shorten it on the site and in our emails and feeds. We may decline anything, and we remove things that are unlawful, misleading, or not ours to publish. Founders keep the right to edit or hide their own profile at any time.

Connected Index listings

A company lists itself in the Connected Index. A free listing goes live once the email address on it is verified, and the company edits it from its dashboard. An Enhanced Business Listing costs $45 a year, paid upfront through Stripe, and renews automatically each year until automatic renewal is turned off in the dashboard; turning it off stops future charges and keeps the enhanced listing to the end of the year already paid for. Write to team@connectedknow.com about a refund and we will look at it case by case.

Connected Know conducts regular audits of the Connected Index and reserves the right to hide or remove any company profile that fails to meet site standards, contains false or fraudulent information, or represents a business that has ceased operations for six (6) months or longer.

Event Tickets and Registration

Free registrations and paid tickets are for the named event on the named date. A ticket admits one person and its code may be used once. Paid tickets are sold by Connected Know and payment is taken by Stripe. Prices are shown in US dollars and include any fees before you pay. An order is confirmed when Stripe confirms the payment. A checkout left unfinished for thirty minutes is cancelled and its seats released, and nothing is charged.

Refunds

If we cancel an event, every paid ticket is refunded in full to the card it was paid with, without you having to ask. If we move an event to another date, you may keep your ticket or ask for a full refund up to the original date. If you cannot attend, email team@connectedknow.com with your order reference at least 48 hours before the event and we will refund you in full. Within 48 hours of the event, we refund where the seat can be resold, and we will tell you either way. Refunds are issued through Stripe and usually reach the card in five to ten business days.

Accounts

Founders and editors sign in with a link sent to their email address. Keep that inbox secure. Anything done from a signed-in session is treated as yours.

Our Content

Stories, photographs and design on the site belong to Connected Know or the people who gave them to us. You may quote and link freely with credit. Please ask before reproducing a story in full. Our events feeds and RSS are for personal use and for calendar and reader apps.

Liability

The site is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, Connected Know is not liable for losses arising from using the site or from attending or missing an event, and our liability for a ticket is limited to what you paid for it. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York.
