Rochester's Moka Energy Wins Food Network's Best Energy Bar Award

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester-based Moka Energy is gaining national attention after its Caramel Cappuccino Coffee Bean Bar was named "Best Energy Bar" in Food Network's 2026 Best of the Best Awards.

The annual awards recognize standout food products evaluated by Food Network's shopping experts. This year, more than 250 products were tested and reviewed, with 25 selected as winners across various categories.

In its Oct. 13 announcement, Food Network highlighted Moka's creamy texture and rich coffee flavor, recognizing the company's approach to turning traditional coffee into a portable snack.moka energy winsTurning Coffee Into Something You Can Eat

Founded on a simple concept — making real coffee available without a cup — Moka Energy has developed a line of coffee bean bars designed for consumers looking for a convenient caffeine boost.

Each 32-gram bar contains 90 milligrams of naturally occurring caffeine, comparable to a typical cup of coffee. Unlike many traditional energy bars, Moka's products contain no chocolate and are vegan and gluten-free.

The company currently offers three flavors: Dark Roast Coffee, Vanilla Latte and Caramel Cappuccino.

"We started Moka with a simple question: what if you could enjoy real coffee without needing a cup?" said Tom Seymour, co-founder and CEO of Moka Energy. "To see Food Network recognize the taste and experience we've worked so hard to create is incredibly meaningful. We're a small team with a big idea, and moments like this remind us why we started."

Building National Recognition From Rochester

The latest award adds to a growing list of national acknowledgments for the Rochester startup.

Earlier this year, Food Network selected Moka Energy as one of its favorite trending products from the 2026 Summer Fancy Food Show, a major specialty food industry event.

The two recognitions reflect growing interest in Moka's coffee-first approach to functional snacking, a category that combines convenience with products designed to deliver specific benefits, such as energy.

For Moka, the recognition also provides an opportunity to introduce its products to a broader national audience as the company continues building relationships with consumers, retailers and distribution partners.

"We're grateful to the customers, retailers and partners who have helped us bring something different into the world," Seymour said. "We're excited about how far Moka has come, and we're just getting started."

What's Next for Moka Energy?

With two Food Network recognitions in 2026, Moka Energy enters its next stage of growth with increased national visibility and a differentiated product in the competitive energy snack market.

The company is part of Rochester's expanding consumer product and food innovation ecosystem, demonstrating how a locally developed concept can attract attention from national media and industry experts.
