Buy Local Finger Lakes Procurement Initiative to Celebrate First Cohort of Local Businesses Nov. 4
BATAVIA, N.Y. — The inaugural Finger Lakes Procurement Initiative is coming to a close, with a celebration scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 4, recognizing four local businesses preparing to expand their opportunities with corporations and larger organizations.
The Buy Local Finger Lakes Procurement Initiative Celebration will bring together business owners, community leaders and regional partners to recognize the inaugural cohort and learn more about the companies, their products and services, and their plans for growth.
The eight-week initiative, offered through the Finger Lakes Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at SUNY Brockport, helps established small businesses prepare to work with larger organizations, including manufacturers, health care systems, universities and corporations.
Meet the Businesses
The inaugural cohort represents a diverse mix of industries, from health care technology and manufacturing software to construction consulting and household staffing.
- Dr. William Bayer — HealthPozitive: A Rochester physician and entrepreneur developing MediTeddi, an interactive talking bear designed to help patients remember medications and track adherence. The technology aims to support patients, families and health care providers through a simple, screen-free experience.
- Conor McInerney — Ciurzynski Consulting: A Western New York construction consulting firm specializing in owner's representation and capital project leadership. The company supports complex construction and manufacturing projects, including the $212 million Edwards Vacuum advanced manufacturing facility at the Western New York Science and Technology Advanced Manufacturing Park (STAMP).
- Steven Smith — Perdix Software: A Rochester technology company helping manufacturers digitize shop-floor operations. Its MOLI System connects production activities, quality management, training and existing enterprise systems to improve operational visibility and efficiency.
- Stephanie Williams — Family Concierge: Founded in 2022, the Rochester-based company specializes in recruiting and placing professional nannies, household managers, academic support professionals and estate staff. Family Concierge serves clients across Western New York and other U.S. markets.
A Celebration of Local Business and Opportunity
Throughout the initiative, participants have worked on understanding corporate procurement, identifying business opportunities, developing marketing materials and positioning their companies to compete for larger contracts.
The Nov. 4 celebration will provide an opportunity for attendees to hear directly from the participating businesses, learn about their capabilities and make connections that could support future growth.
The initiative is supported by the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation.
