Rochester's Andluca Secures Strategic Investment to Accelerate AI-Powered Smart Glass Platform

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester-based advanced materials company Andluca has secured a SAFE investment from an undisclosed strategic investor as the company prepares for its upcoming Series A fundraising round and expands commercialization of its intelligent glass technology.

The investment, announced alongside financial advisor Mavka Capital, provides Andluca with more than capital. The strategic partner brings global glass manufacturing capabilities, industry expertise, and established distribution networks that could significantly accelerate the company's path to large-scale production.

While financial terms of the investment were not disclosed, the funding is expected to support commercial scale-up and strengthen Andluca's position as it enters its next phase of growth.

Founded as a Princeton University spin-out and headquartered in Rochester, Andluca develops advanced UV-active materials and intelligent glass systems designed for commercial, residential, and industrial applications.

Its flagship Innovio™ Glass platform combines electricity-producing glass, embedded sensors, and artificial intelligence to transform traditional windows into intelligent, connected building surfaces. The technology is designed to help buildings generate energy while collecting data that can support smarter, more efficient operations.

The company is initially targeting the global architectural glass and built environment market, valued at approximately $365 billion, with longer-term opportunities across transportation, augmented and virtual reality, anti-counterfeiting technologies, and consumer electronics.

The strategic investment also gives Andluca access to global manufacturing infrastructure and established distribution channels, creating a clearer path toward OEM-scale production and commercialization. The partnership is expected to help the company expand relationships with glass fabricators, window and door manufacturers, homebuilders, and other industry partners.

In addition to Innovio™ Glass, Andluca's technology platform powers SafeFlight UV™, a glass solution designed to reduce bird collisions while maintaining visibility for building occupants. The company's materials are designed to be heavy-metal-free, PFAS-free, durable, and cost-effective to manufacture at scale.

Mavka Capital is serving as exclusive financial advisor for Andluca's Series A financing process. The investment banking firm specializes in mergers and acquisitions, growth capital, and strategic advisory services for emerging technology, climate, and industrial innovation companies.

The announcement marks another milestone for Rochester's growing deep technology ecosystem, where companies developing advanced materials, optics, photonics, and artificial intelligence continue to attract strategic investment and commercial partnerships. As Andluca moves toward Series A financing, the company appears positioned to leverage both capital and manufacturing relationships to bring its intelligent glass platform to larger commercial markets.

Why It Matters

Andluca's latest investment highlights a broader trend across Rochester's innovation economy: local deep-tech companies are increasingly attracting strategic investors that offer more than funding alone. Access to manufacturing capacity, distribution networks, and industry expertise can often accelerate commercialization faster than capital by itself. For Rochester, it represents another example of the region's strengths in optics, materials science, and advanced manufacturing translating into global market opportunities.
